Freaking finally, am I right?
But jokes aside, I’m very excited for 2017. To be honest, the excitement I’ve felt around 2017 has been slowly building since middle of December and I’m hoping that this excitement is almost a sign of what’s to come for the new year.
Beyond what I hope will be happening in this new year, there are a few things that are for sure happening that are worth some excitement.
First and foremost, I’ll be unveiling my new blog, #Fearless, sometime in early 2017. If you want to read about the announcement, you do so by cilcking here! I hoped it’d be sometime in January, but if not it’ll be sometime soon after that. This new blog will be a place for me to do a variety of topics, covering a wide scope of struggles and victories. I want to gain a bigger guest blogging foundation, really work on vlogging and videos, and maybe a few other cool surprises – if I can get them all ironed out. I have so many hopes and dreams for #Fearless, it’s just finding the time and resources to make them all possible.
Another amazing event coming to you in 2017 is my brother and his fiancee are getting married! In March, I’ll be traveling back home to stand witness to their love and of course take part in all the amazing festivities that come with being a bridesmaid – and sister of the groom! What has really made this wedding so great is that it’s helped my brother and I start becoming closer again, after what was definitely a rough few years for us. It should be a wonderful night, and an even better little vacation trip home.
Lastly, and probably the newest announcement, is that I’ll be opening an Etsy store! I love to make little knick knacks and crafts, so over the past few months I’ve been compiling ideas and photos of all the things I’ve made and hope to make. It’s called Fearless Designs, and I’m not asking you to buy something, but if you want to help support me other than reading my posts, I’d be happy to have you do that! Once it’s up and functioning, I’ll make sure to keep you all informed with a link.
It should be a pretty spectacular year, so long as 2017 doesn’t take anyone else famous from us, or magically create new anxieties for me to tackle. But like many great things, I’m looking forward to hopefully doing certain activities this year.
I’d love to get to Austin for RTX 2017, and see some of my favorite YouTube content creators live and in person. Since they started the convention many years back, it’s been a goal of mine to get there and experience all their insanity in person. I’m really hoping that this year will be that year, and that it’ll be a heck of a weekend hanging out with a bunch of people from a great YouTube community.
I’d love to participate and complete Twin Fall’s kayathlon with my husband, and live to tell the tale about it. It’s a triathlon that consists of a 3k run, 5k bike and 3k kayak. It’s probably the most physical event I’d ever do, and to say I not only signed up but completed it would be an awesome feat!
I want to explore more of the great state that my husband and I call home. There’s so many beautiful places that we haven’t even discovered, and I want to find them. Moving to Idaho was a new adventure for us, and since this state is just so freaking gorgeous, it would be a shame to not spend our year really finding the best places it has to offer.
And I really, really hope that this is the year that my Clemson Tigers take down the Crimson Tide! We’re playing in the National Championship on January 9, and if there ever was a Clemson team that could make those Alabama worshipers cry, it’s this one! But, I know just how big of a challenge they will be, and expect a great rematch for the natty.
I’ve got big hopes for 2017. It surely can’t be as bad as 2016, for one reason alone: there’s no presidential election. No more political stress, no more rants, no more senseless bullying because you don’t agree with someone’s views. Just in that alone, this year should be better than before.
So, let’s just take 2017 and make it great. Do something you’ve never done, try something new, make a change and stick with it! Your year will only be as great as you make it.
Until next time, Internet!
