“I think we as human beings are naturally inclined to run away from fear, because it makes us uncomfortable and, well, scared. But, if there’s anything I’ve learned throughout my time in therapy, it’s that running towards your fear is the healthiest choice you can make for yourself. Not only does it broaden your horizons, but it eventually scares away the fear. Once you become bigger, stronger and braver than your fear assumed you to be, it’ll suddenly disappear, leaving you the ability to be who you have always meant to be. That’s why I love this quote, because it reminds me to always run towards what scares me and embrace it… then watch as it slowly backs away from me in sheer confusion because no one has ever done that before.”

Lastly, we run an Emetophobia Support Group on Facebook. Emetophobia is the intense and irrational fear of throwing up, and it is one struggle we are passionately engaged in. It is a closed, by request only group to help facilitate sharing and support by all members. It is also private, meaning that the posts you and others make will not show up publicly in your newsfeed.
