Fictional Holidays That You Really Should Be Celebrating

I don’t know about you, but I love holidays. It’s a reason to make themed food, and decorate your home for literally no reason other than corporate America tells you to. I honestly feel like there could always be more holidays, because there’s really nothing like a holiday to really lift your spirits. If you’re like me, and wishing you could celebrate more than just those boring old, traditional holidays, I’ve got a surprise for you: you can and I’ll show you how. Thanks to the creative minds of television, movies, and just a handful of awesome humans, you can never feel bored with your holiday choices again! Sluzzle Tag (The Amazing World of Gumball): January 10 In case you were feeling particularly sad after Christmas, and need a little pick me up, Sluzzle Tag is the holiday for you. Don your most festive grindcore attire (or, just opt for leather, studs, and black), wrap your toilet in barbed wire, and feast upon the greasiest fried food you can find. Exchange gifts that are ridiculous or …

Fearless Babbles: Change

Sometimes I sit down to write posts and I have no direction. In all honesty, those posts don’t usually end up on my site. Why? Because I spend a lot of time staring into my computer screen screaming. It’s… just something I’m used to by now. But today I decided to flip the script, and I’m just going to write whatever comes to mind because why wouldn’t I just give it a shot? I feel like, in many ways, I am always thinking. I have so much going on, whirring by in my brain that I struggle to pinpoint a single subject. I have 4000 ideas in my head, none of which are fully formed and it can sometimes be overwhelming trying to stop the spinning to get something out there. I find it’s one of the biggest hurdles I have with my blog. I either sit down and get three articles written, or I spend my time staring into the abyss, wishing I could just do SOMETHING. I think this might be called ADD …

But Does It Work? Alcohol & Food Poisoning Prevention

The following conversation you are about to read is in no way exaggerated or altered in any way; it probably literally went just like this: “I looooove shrimp,” said Jane Doe. “Oh, I don’t eat seafood, to me it seems far too risky to eat. Plus, every time a family member has gotten food poisoning it’s from seafood.” “Well, I eat shrimp without fear because I take a shot of alcohol before I eat any seafood,” exclaimed Jane Doe. “What? Why does that matter?” I was completely flabbergasted as to what that correlation was. “You don’t know?” she said. “They say if you take a shot of alcohol, like vodka for example, it helps kill any bacteria that could make you sick in your stomach! I do it every time I eat seafood, and so far? I haven’t been sick.” Now, if you know me, not only was I insanely skeptical, but I started smirking while thinking my favorite phrase: correlation does not imply causation. Beyond all that, if this was something that was so …

#Fearless Quote of the Week: May 22-May 28

This week’s QOTW was chosen by Brittany L., a #Fearless community member. See why she chose it and what it is below: “I never fully understood this quote until I got older. Negative moments in one’s past have a way to coming back to haunt them years later. Over 10 years later, I still have times where my childhood abuse rears it’s ugly head and tries to destroy the amazing life I’ve built. It is in those moments that I choose to become stronger, wiser, and remember that my abuse does not define me. I’ve learned to forgive my abuser, not for him, but so I can move on. Running only prolongs the inevitable, and you will never move on if you run. It may be the hardest thing you every do (I know it was for me), but turning around to face your past and learn from it will be the most profound part of your life.” Do you want to be featured on #Fearless? It’s as simple as sending in your favorite inspirational quote, …

#Fearless Quote of the Week: April 10-15

This week’s QOTW was chosen by Chelsie S., Owner and Writer for #Fearless. See why she chose it and what it is below: “This was a quote I didn’t know I needed until I read it. When I think back on every obstacle I’ve encountered in my life, it was never something I could overcome until I understood why it was there. Every mountain we climb has a moment that teaches us something valuable. That moment is what eventually propels you forward to conquering your fear, making that move, or starting that change. This quote reminds me to have patience when my life isn’t quite going right, and to trust that eventually what I need to know will show itself.” Do you want to be featured on the site too? It’s as simple as sending in your favorite inspirational quote, poetry verse, movie quote or song lyric, and explaining why you love it! You can either use the form below, or email the quote, the author and why you chose it to contact@hashtagfearless.com. We can’t …
